Sainte-Cécile cathedral

Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cecilia, also known as Albi Cathedral is claimed to be the largest brick building in the world. The treasury of the cathedral is made up of ca. 55 objects including decorative religious items in gold, reliquaries, paintings, a beautiful collection of mediaeval sculptures and a collection of items (copes, chasubles and other religious vestments) from the Cathedral’s vestiaries.

To highlight all these objects we designed and produced showcases that took into account the aesthetic integration within the surrounding building like wall showcases integrated into niches or fixed on the walls. Airtightness guaranteeing good conservation of the works presented within was also essential, along with lightening and high security and conservation level.  A special challenge was delivery inside the building with special 10m high crane.
